Professor Sir Duncan Nichol, Member of the Advisory Board, was Chief Executive of the NHS Management Executive from 1989 to 1994, having enjoyed an extensive career in health service management. He is former Head of the Centre for International Healthcare Management at Manchester University and a former Director of BUPA. He is currently a Director of Synergy Healthcare and of a number of subsidiary companies of Primary Group. He is Chairman of the Parole Board.
